Interviews with Liaison Officers
The Project Liaison Officers interviewed sea users about their activities throughout the project area. An interview usually lasted between one and three hours, during which time a sea user was guided through a structured questionnaire, and provided information on a digital map to show where and how they use the sea. Responses were collated by sector, which builds a picture of how the sector uses the region.
Data collection started in April 2010 and by mid-June the Liaison Officers had conducted over 150 interviews with dive clubs, sailing clubs, activity centres and commercial fishing groups.
Balanced Seas had three Liaison Officers and two assistant Liaison Officers based in London, Portsmouth and Lewes.
They interviewed individuals and visited clubs and societies and also provided more detailed information about the Project.
The following brochures were distributed during the regional project providing further information on the interview process for commercial fishermen, recreational sea anglers, water sports enthusiasts and divers. These brochures are now out of date and archived here for background information only - the contact details no longer apply.
